I believe...

The government should not regulate the medical rights of women but there needs to be more effort put on the prevention of unwanted pregnancies so that abortion is not so widespread. The only way to do this is to talk openly and honestly about sex.

We, as a nation, have become unconsciously wasteful. Every human begin must take responsibility for how they consume, dispose and waste resources.

The way to prevent future wars is to teach our children to look for the commonalities between themselves and others not the differences, especially in religion.

America prides itself on separating church and state. But we continue to deny our fellow Americans equal rights and prevent technical advances that can save lives because of religious doctrines.

Health Care should be added to the basic human needs: Food, Shelter, Clothing, and Health Care. We must ensure that everyone has these four things. There is a simple solution to this. It’s called sharing.

Our public schools should be a model for our society since they have found a way to attract workers who care about doing good for our community despite low wages and strive to provide an environment where all backgrounds are welcome and individual needs and abilities are recognized, addressed and accepted.

In order to battle irresponsible spending and the consumerism overindulgence that has led to our economic meltdown we need to address society’s unhealthy attitude about competition, materialism, and greediness.

This country is everyone’s responsibility. Every single person has an obligation to look for ways to help their community. It means taking real action, not just talking about how you think it should be. Volunteer. Everyone.

We need to make room in our hearts and our minds for every political party, every religion, and every viewpoint. We must protect the rights of others to disagree with us because that is what makes this country so great. We need to question everything, but with compassion. We need to change our minds easily when our experience brings us new wisdom.
